Northcut at Klepp<\/a> has a large industrial hall of 350 m2<\/sup> and 6 metres ceiling height. <\/mark>
Their problem was a lot of disturbing noise and reverberation from overhead travelling cranes, compressors and industrial tools.<\/mark><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This is what it looked like before measures with sound-absorbing panels<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We measured a reverberation time of 2.6 Tsek<\/em><\/strong> during sound measurement. The maximum allowed reverberation time in this production building is 1.2 Tsek,<\/em> according to NS 8175:2019, which corresponds to sound class C. Furthermore, sound pressure measurements show that this is approx. 80 dB.<\/strong> This means that you must adhere to the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority's guidelines for working hours in such circumstances. For example, a maximum of 4 hours of work with hearing protection. HSE in relation to notification and communication must be taken care of for safety reasons. The maximum permitted sound level\/sound pressure is 47 dB in sound class C. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To fulfil the required reverberation time of 1.2 Tsec and sound level\/dB<\/em>, we calculated that it had to be mounted 190 metres in total2<\/sup><\/strong> High-quality sound-absorbing panels, sound absorption class A. Together with the customer, we chose the absorbent EiraTM<\/sup> 40mm white,<\/a> in the size 60x120x4 cm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After installation, we took a new sound measurement and the reverberation time is now 1.07 Tsek<\/em> and the sound pressure is down to 45 dB. Which is well within the requirement.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The customer is very pleased with the location, appearance and acoustics in the room. It has become a completely new working day for those who work here and stand in noisy surroundings every single day. This is a good example of an employer who takes employee HSE seriously and invests in a thorough process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The right process is<\/strong>: acoustics sound measurement, calculations in accordance with current regulations and the Norwegian Standard, good planning and delivery of the right amount and absorber as well as placement and installation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
