Better sound at Tove Bar in Vesterbro, Copenhagen

The challenge of high reverberation and poor sound environment

Tove Retro Bar at Vesterbro is run by young people and a place where it's good to meet. As they say themselves, “Tove is a new bar on Vesterbro embracing a retro vibe with a modern twist“. However, with no basic soundproofing and thus extremely loud sound in the room, both employees and guests complained about the sound level.

From sound measurement to solution

They found our website and we started a dialogue about how we could help. DTU (Danish University of Technology) took sound measurements in the bar, after which we calculated how much soundproofing they needed.

Combination of function and design

"We put together a number of different types of sound panels, both for ceilings and walls, for effective damping and at the same time a cool and different decor and expression. The installation was done on a voluntary basis with an advisor from the Norwegian Acoustics Centre present and everyone was very pleased with the result.

The products that were used

The products that were assembled are FriggTM25 and 40 mm wall, both behind pictures, notice boards and other decor. LokiTM40 mm and EiraTM40 mm black on the ceiling, both circles and different sizes were glued up. Some were mounted in wire where LED lights were mounted on the top. It was a cool effect.

Co-operation, volunteering, good results and a good atmosphere
