We have chosen not to make this type of measurement.
We measure reverberation time and general noise level = resting noise (dB) in buildings. We can refer you to others who carry out such measurements.
But we've developed a special product that effectively dampens footstep sound and continuous sound.

Of course, it depends on the need and what the challenge is in the room.
The most common solution is to install the absorbers in the ceiling. Preferably as close to the noise source as possible. Either in neat fields or full coverage of the ceiling.
A rule of thumb is that if the ceiling height is higher than 3 metres, absorbers should be installed on the wall in addition to the ceiling/ceiling. Otherwise, the absorbers should be placed as close to the noise source as possible.

If you need help, we can provide skilled and professional installers who have been installing for us for a long time. Mainly in Rogaland and Oslo/Viken, but we have contacts in other areas.
We have our own production and can create customised solutions/products. It is possible to produce your own colours (minimum 100 m2), sizes and special designs. Of course, when this is done, it is not a stock item and must be put into production, so the delivery time is somewhat longer and the cost somewhat higher.
If you want to know this for sure, we need to come for an ACOUSTIC SOUND MEASUREMENT & ASSESSMENT to map the acoustic sound conditions in the room. We take measurements and calculate how much must be introduced into the room to lower the reverberation to the desired level or in accordance with current regulations.
If we are not in your area to carry out an acoustic measurement, you can send us measurements and photos of the room you want repaired, and we can carry out a remote assessment and provide you with a solution and quote.
After carrying out a large number of measurements, calculations and installations, we have learnt that most living spaces need a coverage level of approx. 65% in relation to floor area to be good and usable rooms for most applications. If there is extra height under the ceiling, greater coverage is often required.
A combination of sound-absorbing ceilings, sound-absorbing absorbers on the walls, carpets and special sound-absorbing furniture and pictures/decorations can be realised "everywhere" and to such an extent that the conditions are very good for the users.
The formula is as follows
The room's m2 / 100 x experience-based coverage ratio of 65% = X m2
Example
The room is 75 metres2 / 100 x 65% = approx. 48.75 m2 absorbers are needed in the room.
This is, of course, a rough and experience-based approach. To be more precise, you need to carry out acoustic measurements in the area and base exact calculations on that.

Yes, our absorbers fulfil all legal requirements according to the CE regulation. CE regulation. See details on the data sheet under each product.
Our absorbers are highly effective and attenuate in sound class A. So yes, they work.

Ordering, shipping and payment
You can either order directly in our online shop and pay directly with our payment solution. Or you can send an enquiry/order to post@akustikksenter.no, we will send an order confirmation and invoice by email.
We ship throughout Norway and the Nordic region. We can also ship to other countries by agreement. We have agreements with international carriers.

We pack your order and book shipping for you. The goods are shipped from the warehouse to your address. You will be contacted by the shipper. The goods are usually delivered on a pallet that is well packaged. This is delivered to the door or into a lift. Must be able to drive a pallet jack. You must arrange for carriage yourself. If you wish to order carriage, it will cost extra. Please notify customer service at post@akustikksenter.no.
As a consumer, you have a 14-day right of cancellation from the day you receive the shipment from us. Fill in the cancellation form that was sent with the order in a link. You can also find it here.
You must notify us in advance at post@akustikksenter.no if you wish to return all or part of your order. Absorbents are fragile and therefore broken packages cannot be returned. Only whole, unbroken boxes (does not apply to absorbents sold by the piece). Please take a photo of the goods as they are packed before the freight company collects them. In the email, also send your account number in addition to information about the goods to be returned.
DO NOT order a return until we have had a dialogue via email. This avoids possible misunderstandings.
You must order and pay for the return of the goods yourself. It is important that the goods are packed well so that they are not damaged during transport. Use the packaging the order came in and use corner reinforcers when packing. We check the goods on arrival and credit undamaged goods.
The goods must be checked upon receipt. Look over the boxes if you can see any obvious external damage and notify the driver before he leaves. Take photos of the damage and send them to us at post@akustikksenter.no.

If you order manually by phone or email, you will receive an invoice that is paid according to the agreement.

Several of our absorbents are sold per piece. These are typically products that have a textile surface and are more robust. Check out the Frigg and Hugin product ranges in particular.
Most absorbents are fragile and most are not removed from the box before they are sold and therefore cannot be sold individually.

Yes, our carriers deliver to your door. You will be contacted in advance and must be at home to accept delivery.
A little about reverberation and sound
Reverberation time is calculated by measuring the time it takes the sound to reduce 60 db in an area/room. This is called an RT60 measurement. It is measured in the area/room you want to map by using an advanced sound meter that is capable of this. An impulse noise is created by, for example, blowing up a balloon and then the sound meter measures the time it takes to reduce the sound by 60 db.
The reverberation time obtained can then be compared with what is permitted in accordance with current regulations.
Yes, long reverberation times can be harmful.
We have a lot of experience from daycare centres, schools, restaurants, etc. where employees have been bothered by poor sound over a long period of time and developed stress, irritation, concentration difficulties, burnout, reduced hearing and tinnitus.
Studies show that up to 1 in 3 kindergarten employees develop tinnitus, and that 1 in 6 children develop hearing loss during their kindergarten years. Ref. Swedish surveys in 2012 (Umeå University, Fredrik Sjødin).
With simple online searches, you can find studies and information about sound and the consequences of excessive noise over time.
A standard system for sound classification of buildings has been developed in Norway. This is called NS 8175:2012/2019 and a ranking of sound classes from A to D has been created.
- Sound class A - corresponds to particularly good sound conditions where affected persons are very rarely disturbed by sound and noise.
- Sound class B - corresponds to very good sound conditions, but affected persons may be disturbed by sound and noise to some extent.
- Sound class C - corresponds to satisfactory sound conditions for a large proportion of affected people.
- Sound class D - corresponds to sound conditions where a large proportion of affected people can expect to be disturbed by sound and noise.
In our experience, sound classes A and B should be used in most rooms where people are present for long periods of time. This provides good attenuation and a pleasant sound environment. Otherwise, sound is also very individual and some people want more attenuation than the regulations dictate.
We can, this is called remote assessment and is based on measurements and photos of the room. You send us the m2, ceiling height and photos of the ceiling and wall. We can then make an experience-based assessment.

Acoustics is the study of sound and how sound is perceived. Acoustics is about how sound behaves in space.
People find loud noise disturbing. Research shows that the most disturbing sounds in the office are the voices of others. Concentration is therefore dependent on minimising disruptive sounds.
The sound environment is important at home, in the workplace and wherever you are travelling.
The sound level where you are located is determined by the amount of absorption in the area.
Different room types require different acoustic solutions. Sometimes it is not enough just to have absorbent ceilings, in which case the use of suspended ceiling tiles or wall absorbers is recommended
as a supplement.
Most people will perceive discomfort from a lot of sound associated with reverberation (echo) or loud basic sound (during) as noise, so it is normally appropriate to implement soundproofing measures.
If you have hearing loss or tinnitus, good soundproofing is particularly important.
