A great atmosphere at the Panorama Café at Nordland Hospital
The Panorama Café on the 9th floor of Nordland Hospital in Bodø offers fantastic views of the town, the sea and the mountains. It’s the perfect place for a good meal, whether you fancy a full dinner or a quick lunch. However, the lovely atmosphere was marred by a significant problem: harsh reverberation and a noisy soundscape that ruined the ambience.
To address this issue, the Norwegian Acoustics Centre took on the project. Following thorough sound measurements and calculations, we were finally able to travel there in August to install the new acoustic correction solutions.

Both the dining areas and the kitchen have seen a significant reduction in noise levels, and the feedback from both staff and guests has been overwhelmingly positive. What was once a challenging acoustic environment is now perceived as cosy, calm and relaxing.
The following was done:
To achieve good acoustics, targeted measures were implemented in the ceiling, on the walls and throughout the room:
- Roof: Loke 40 in white.
- Wall: Frigg 40 in light grey (textile surface).
- On the floor: Hugin acoustic partition in light grey (textile surface).
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Panorama Café (Nordland Hospital Trust) for the project, and we’re delighted that the room has finally been given the atmosphere it deserves. The bonus was glorious weather and some wonderful days up north!
We would like to thank you for the project; once again, we have transformed a room.
