Good sound in Nordberg Parish Church
Good acoustics transform a room
There are many spaces where people gather that lack basic sound absorption and are therefore not pleasant places to be. Community centres and church halls are among these. They are often beautiful spaces, but it can be difficult to hold conversations, listen to music or hear speeches in them due to a lack of sound absorption and the prevalence of hard surfaces.
In the Nordberg parish, the church interior presented a challenge, and we were commissioned to carry out acoustic measurements in accordance with NS8175:2019/2012, propose a solution and carry out the installation. In other words, to assist with the entire process.
From 1.32 to 0.71 Check: How we sorted out the acoustics at Nordberg Church
The reverberation time in the auditorium was as high as 1.32 Tsek, whilst the requirement is 0.71 Tsek. The high ceiling and sloping roof also present an additional challenge.
The client opted for an Acoustic Class A solution, which involved covering the entire ceiling with sound-absorbing material, and the result is fantastic. Both visually (a much brighter and more modern look) and in terms of acoustics, the result is excellent.

The room is ready; all that remains is the measurement
We haven’t been able to carry out the reverberation measurement yet, as the room was due to be used for a wedding and other events straight after the installation. But we’ll get back to you with the results 😊
We would like to thank you for the assignment and, once again, we transformed a room.
